KRUMPHALS, Ingrid

Ingrid Krumphals is a researcher in the field of physics didactics. As a scholarship holder, she has been doing her PhD at the University of Vienna at the Austrian Educational Competence Centre Physics since 2009. Beforehand she finished a teacher training course in Physics and Mathematics at the University of Vienna. In her diploma thesis she did an empirical study in comparing Austria and Ireland focusing on gender aspects. The thesis required a research stay abroad and was partly done in Ireland. Hence she gained valuable knowledge about another educational system. Her broad knowledge in the area of education is due to her involvement in projects which have dealt with educational issues. Her main research interest is physics teachers’ professional knowledge. Particularly in her PhD project she is focusing on physics teacher students and the development of their pedagogical content knowledge.
